Red Deer natural light boudoir

This thing called natural light. For years I'd been yearning for some of it in my studio. It got to the point I was very creative with how I used my studio strobes to mimic natural light. I even had people coming into my Lacombe boudoir studio after seeing images on my website thinking I had a window in my shooting room. Creative was fun, but it wasn't making things any easier for me. I was running out of space. Things started happening that led me to believe it was a blessing in disguise, and I started looking for a new home for my studio. This time with windows. I had a dream space in mind, and I wasn’t going to stop looking until I found it. After 9 years in the same space, I was dying for some blue sky and warm morning light to stretch in while taking an editing break.
Fast forward to today, I’ve been in this space since June 1st of 2016, and it was the best thing I could have done for myself and my business. I can finally advertise myself as a Red Deer boudoir photographer specializing in natural light artistry. The light is amazing in here, on a bright day or a dark day. I can tailor the type of shoot according to the light situation on any given day. I can make a moody portrait, or a sun drenched portrait. Whatever you desire in a portrait, it’s my desire to achieve it for you.
However, light is light. It’s all in the way you use it. Natural light gives you a “freestyle” way of shooting, if you will. More of a lifestyle or documentary feel. It’s carefree, light and airy, yet moody if used the right way. It still takes an eye to see it, and it should always be present, like shadows.
I hope you enjoy my natural light gallery, it took 9 long years to get to this point. xoxo ~ marlene
